Expand Digital are one step ahead by being the first business on Tamworth’s Tame Valley Industrial Estate to become heart safe.
On Monday 27th of April, Managing Director Kyle Raffo and his staff members along with TAME Community First Responders John Thompson and Liam Marshall proudly received the life-saving Defibrillator (AED) from Jamie Richards, Managing Director of AEDdonate. Not only are Kyle and Jamie both Managing Directors of local businesses but they are also responding to 999 calls as voluntary first responders in their spare time so they see first-hand why the defibrillators are crucial.
The AED is available within office hours but Mr Raffo is aiming for the unit to be placed externally to make it available to the whole community 24/7 365 days of the year. This is achievable by asking local businesses and members of the community to help raise the funds for the external box needed to house the unit outside. By fundraising it also educates the local area of how important the box is and why it’s essential the device is available 24/7.
Expand Digital’s Managing Director Kyle Raffo said “It really is great to be the first business in the area to have a defibrillator available for my staff and the local community. I would urge local businesses and the community to become involved in raising funds to house the AED in the Public Access Box”.
AEDdonate Managing Director Jamie Richards said “By donating an AED and installing it in a publicly-accessible location, together we can ensure that people who suffer sudden cardiac arrest get the immediate treatment that could well make the difference between life and death. The majority of patients can be saved if they have access to a defibrillator within the first 3-4 minutes of their cardiac arrest.
