A defibrillator is being installed at Stanton Primary School in Burton on Trent.

The defibrillator will be located on the exterior wall of Stanton Village Hall next to the primary school and will benefit the whole community 24/7.

Responsible for around 30,000 out of hospital deaths in the UK every year, sudden cardiac arrest is one of the country’s biggest killers but quick and easy access to a defibrillator can significantly increase the chances of survival. A defibrillator is a device that gives a high-energy electric shock to the heart through the chest wall to someone who is in cardiac arrest.

Rachel Richards, Head of Community and Education at AEDdonate said we're delighted to have been able to match fund this campaign to support the total raised by the school and Stanton Village Hall. Everyone has pulled together to make this possible showing a real community spirit. A defibrillator is so easy to use and plays a crucial part in the treatment of a cardiac arrest. I would urge other communities to get in touch to see how we can help

Well done everyone, you're all community champions!
