Just before christmas R Brand Design took delivery of their new defibrillator after recognising the importance of the machines in the community.
Fraser Macdonald, Technical Director said "Thanks to AEDdonate for supporting us with an AED. It’s great to know that we have an AED in the offices that is available to both staff and the local community"
The defibrillator is registered with the local ambulance service and can be activated to anyone needing it in the nearby vicinity. The defibrillator will be checked and maintained by the site.
A defibrillator is a device that gives a high-energy electric shock to the heart through the chest wall to someone who is in cardiac arrest. Providing an essential and potentially life-saving stage in the treatment of anyone suffering a Cardiac Arrest, defibrillators are easy to operate with step-by-step instructions for members of the community to use in an emergency.
Jamie Richards, Chief Executive of AEDdonate; who supplied the AED said “It's great to see another community recognising the importance of the machines, the chance of survival after sudden cardiac arrest decreases minute by minute, but if someone is shocked with a defibrillator within 2-3 minutes their chance of survival increases by 70 % ”
Thank you to Tesco Bags of Help for helping to make this possible
