Scouts at Aston & Little Stoke Scouts group have completed their Emergency Aid - Stage 3 badge after taking part in an awareness session at one of their meetings. The session included a talk about AEDdonate, the importance of defibrillators in the community and how to use one if needed.

Tom Lewis, Sectional Assistant - Aston & Little Stoke Scouts said "I think it is a great opportunity for our Scouts to learn some really valuable skills and information about sudden cardiac arrest and what they can do to help if faced with the situation"

Whilst defibrillators are easy to use it is great that members of this group are better prepared in the event of an emergency. A defibrillator is a device that gives a high-energy electric shock to the heart through the chest wall to someone who is in cardiac arrest. Providing an essential and potentially life-saving, stage in the treatment of anyone suffering a cardiac arrest, defibrillators are easy to operate with step-by-step instructions for members of the public to use in an emergency.
